Hello, I have 13months old English Cocker Spaniel, in the last two months his coat really thinned out. It's strange. Specifically his cocker skirt fall out insanely.

I am hoping someone with cocker experience can help me figure it out. Obviously the vet does not have a clue.

I am wondering if all of his hair was puppy coat and just fall out. But to that extent? I don't think so.

I will post 2 pictures, 1 month apart, so you can see the difference. I was thinking finally his skirt gonna pop out in 2,3 months(it's gonna grow longer) but all the hair is gone.

I would really appreciate some responses. Thank you!

I would say maybe the breeder would be a good person to ask?

If he doesn't have any obvious skin issues or other health concerns that the vet may be worried about (thyroid, etc.) I would be inclined to think that it is just losing puppy coat and getting the adult coat in.

Consulting with your breeder, and asking about coats in the line could be helpful, but it's possible that it's just a coat change, and the new coat needs time to grow.
