My Portuguese Water Dog (PWD) is 10 months old and drags her front paws when she walks. So bad that the nails are completely filed down and her paws bleed if we even just walk around the block. We tried arthritis medication to 'loosen' the joints or whatever, but it hasn't helped. I've had several dogs growing up and all, and none ever dragged their front paws like this.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Of course you need to go to the vet and have them check the dog's elbow joints--and even the hip joints particularly in the front legs (I would do them all). Could also be muscular in nature and have nothing to do with the bone.

Vet check is definetly needed. Have you contacted your breeder about the issues yet? Maybe there's a posibility of something genetic or predisposed.

This thread is from 2007, and it was the OP's only post.

I think you've posted about this product on DobermanTalk, as well?
