Hi, I have a 10 week old Boston Terrier which I'm trying to train to ring the bell hanging from the door knob so he can do his thing. He's very smart and has learned how to ring the bell only after I showed him twice upon exiting to go pee. Well, he's using the bell to signal playtime outside instead now and although I appreciate the fact that he hasn't used a pee pad for about a week, did I train him incorrectly or is this normal for puppies when they get bored inside?

It's funny, after taking him outside for 3 false alarms, I ignored the next two door bells, and he hit it again as I was typing the above post. He definitely looked a bit more determined on this time so I let him out and he did his business. I suppose I will just have to read his intent from his urgency :)

Thanks for the link laurelsmom, it was helpful. I don't think I could ever get angry at this little monkey. He arrived doing his business on the floor, and was going outside every time two days later. Really smart. I just need to teach him recall, and the rest is downhill from there ;)
