I have two Italian Greyhounds and they have this obsession with tissue paper. I bought a whole case of tissue paper and forgot to set it on the table. The following morning I woke up to a huge huge mess, half of the tissue rolls were teared apart or ripped into.

Anyone else have dogs obsessed with tissue paper? If so how can this be fixed. =(.

My late boy Leeo did this. That is how he got his middle name "Bandit" .... he was the Kleenex bandit! Lol!

When he got to be about 3 years old he quit on his own. In the meantime I just made sure it was always out of reach. He did however go for the waste baskets if they weren't emptied a few times a day. Then at 3 years old ... he would only do this when he was upset with me ...... for not getting something he wanted! He was a spoiled but happy boy! :)

Hamilton LOVES any sort of paper product - tissues and napkins and papertowels, as well as newspaper or receipts or anything else he can get his chubby paws on. The only solution I've got is to keep it all out of his reach!

Callie does this. We tried and tried to train her but it just resulted in more sneaky tissue theft. Eventually we just kept everything out of her reach, including buying little covered trash cans for the bathrooms.

Kabota loves shredding tissues, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. He's bold about it, too. He'll just hop right up on the coffee table to grab paper towels, and we had to move the toilet paper to on top of the toilet tank, because he'd go into the bathroom, grab the end of the roll and go flying through the house, trailing toilet paper after him.

Actually, that last thing is so cute, if I had an unlimited budget for toilet paper, I'd let him do it as much as he wants.

My dog doesn't have a paper fetish, but one of my pet sitting dogs does. I was uninformed of this when I started sitting for them and I left the bathroom door open. WOW, was I in for a mess when I woke up the next morning. He strung toilet paper from the holder all through the house, and made confetti out of the 3 rolls that were sitting on the floor. It took me an hour to clean up the mess!
When I said something to his parents they said that he had been doing that since he was a puppy and he is now 4.
Good luck!

Gypsy is a tissue and paper napkin thief. She'll do it when she's not getting enough (in her opinion) attention.

Napkin stealing goes like this:
There's a dog under the table. Awww.
The dog's head is on my lap, and she's looking at me. Awww.
*snick* Where'd my napkin go?!
Hey, where's Gypsy?

She'll then sprawl under her "naughty chair" with her head sticking out, holding the stolen item obviously. She usually won't shred it. She'll just hold it mischievously.

OMG, why didn't I think of that? Of course!

Carmen loves a tisue to munch and we have to be careful to keep the bathroom door closed and empty the trash can b/c she'll help herself to a tissue. Well she likes to sleep in the hall lately and we can't leave the bathroom door open so I got a nightlight and am hoping no one trips over her in the dark on their way to the bathroom--we usually leave the bathroom light on but now the door has to be closed.

Eureka, a trash can with a cover! Problem solved. (OK, I should have thought of this but I haven't gotten much sleep since Carmen has decided she's rather cry ALL night than sleep in her crate!)
