As I type this, Dilly-Dally is asleep on the futon, three feet away from me. Her tail is wagging, her legs are twitching, and occasionally she yips and yaps. This is the best television show, ever. Sometimes, she'll even open her eyes and seem to look right at me, then shut them and go right back to yipping, wagging, twitching, and snoring. We're supposed to go on her evening walk in a bit, but I just don't have the heart to wake her.

I don't really have a point to this post. This is my first dog, and I'm just basking in it right now, and felt the need to share.

Dixie makes noises like a coffee percolator when she dreams.

It's one of the best feelings in the world, isn't it? Just coexisting with another being that is just as in love with you as you are with them. Dogs are far less stressful than any human I've ever met.

Molly yips in her sleep. The eyes open and close, her paws twitch, her legs move, she even growls sometimes. Hailey is much quieter when she dreams, lol, her paws twitch, but that's about it.

And the breathing - I forgot to mention the breathing. Watching her body expand & contract with each breath is just so serene.

I also love the various body poses while she sleeps. Sometimes, she'll curl up in a semi-circle. Sometimes she's on her back, sometimes she's on her side, sometimes her legs are all jumbled up and I have to wonder how comfortable that could possibly be.

My favorite pose is when she's on her stomach, and lays her head on her front paws. After five minutes, all my worries disappear.

Ahhhhhh, I could watch doggies dream... and play... all day. Sheer joy!

The other day one of my puppies was running and yelping in his sleep. His brother came up and watched him for a moment, concerned. Then he kissed his cheek as if to comfort him. His brother woke up and kissed him back! So much cuteness I can't stand it!!
