Tomorrow will be the third day that my dog hasn't pooped. last time that she did, was in the middle of the night in her crate..and she went ALOT.

She got sick with kennel cough and we had to take her to the vet for antibiotics. We read that this is (or can be) a normal side effect from the tessigon, but was curious if I should feed her pumpkin or something to help. Or I read about the match trick.(I'd rather not)

She doesn't seem to be in pain or anything, and doesn't even try to go. We walked her many times and ran with her to get things going.

Pure canned pumpkin can help. Add a couple of tablespoons to her food.

I keep 2 cans of canned pumpkin (careful, it's right next to pumpkin pie filling in the baking aisle, you do not want the pie filling) in the house at all times for this. Intestinal problems are a common side effect of antibiotics, but if you're concerned, call the vet and ask.

Well she went today, so I feel a little better now. Would using the pumpkin help to settle the stomach and regulate digestion, or more of a straight up laxative?
