My dog has had it with dog food. He won't eat any kind now. Not even canned food. So we are going to do home cooking which he loves. Can anyone recommend a good multivitamin multimineral in powder form or pill form.

Wysong has Call of the Wild, which is intended to balance a raw meat diet if you can't feed bones or organs. I don't know if it will balance a cooked meat diet the same way. . .maybe call Wysong to ask?

Except for calcium and probably vitamin E a carefully chosen menu will easily cover all the vitamins and minerals. Red meat and a bit of liver cover all the vitamins and most of the minerals.

I use http://nutritiondata.self.com/ to check that the diet is in the ball park.

If Max had to eat cooked food I would like to use a recipe as close to this as possible. http://www.b-naturals.com/newsletter/low-glycemic/ I would probably be feeding a mush that was prepared and frozen though. 75% meat/fish/egg/organ and 25% pureed veggies and I would use bone meal instead of egg shell.

And last but by no means least, this site has oodles of information on feeding dogs fresh food with facts and links to further information. http://www.dogaware.com/diet/homemade.html

I've got good news for today with Benji. This morning I opened up some canned dog food and he ate it. Thank god. I don't think he was feeling full from people food. I'm just glad he ate it. Maybe he's going through some kind of phase in his 3 year old life. Menopausal perhaps, LOLOL. But the food he ate was Ole Roy's smothered chicken dinner. I know not the best canned dog food, but at least he ate it. Maybe, I need to change his feeding schedule around. Feed him more in the A.M and only treats at night. Will see how this goes.

My pup started refusing to eat dry or canned dog food until I switched to Ziwipeak and the Honest Kitchen. Now she scarfs her food down she loves it so much. She thinks she's being fed the same yummy stuff we're eating.
