My dog grumbles and growls very low at 1 and 5 a.m., for attention.

I have tried so hard to follow the advice of this forum but I am confused and sleepless

She also won't come when called, except for treats

Can someone point me at a source of information on issues like this?

TIA, a lot

For come, I would try, during training, sometimes giving him one treat, sometimes giving him no treats, and a few times a "jackpot"(a handful of treats). This will keep him guessing, and he'll come because he's hoping for that jackpot! During the day, randomly call him and give him a TON of love and maybe even a treat!

For the growling, my first question is, do you crate him at night? Even if you don't, just completely ignore him. Dot say anything to him, or push him away if he doesn't sleep crated, act as if you never even heard him. At first this will most likely make him try even harder to get your attention, but if you continue to ignore him he'll eventually learn that it doesn't work. Also, make sure you excersize him before he goes to bed. He could just still have energy left to burn and is bored :)

How old is your dog and how long have you had her? Is the grumbling and growling new or has that always happened?
