He's a rescue so little to no information on him, three different breed/age guesses from the vets at the shelter he was adopted from ranging from hound -> lab -> great dane and 6-9 months. My guess is he's mostly great dane because of his bone structure and disposition, but the tail is a source of mystery. When I got him in late May, he was 37 lbs at 20ish inches (last picture), and now he weighs almost 80. Take your best guess :)

Back in the day the slightest mix was called a mutt. Last time i owned a dog was in the late 80's, so i've been outta the dog loop for awhile. Is calling a dog a mutt considered offensive in the twenty first century...?

I'd believe Great Dane x Labrador cross, with maybe something else thrown in for good measure.

As for whether or not calling a dog a mutt is considered offensive, it depends on the intent behind it. Some people use it in a very derogatory way, especially about other people's dogs. Others, usually the dogs' owner, use it simply to mean a dog that is so mixed that its breed makeup can't be determined by phenotype.
