Does your dog like a bath?

Bella isn't real crazy about taking a bath. She does fine once she is in the tub, but she acts like you are killing her when you put her in. In fact, when she sees me carrying two towels and her soap she runs and hides and I have to find her and carry her 55lb tail to the tub. It is crazy, she loves to swim, but she doesn't like a bath. Maybe it is because it take about 35-45 minutes to bath her with all of her hair.

So, as I am watching her run through my house like she is crazy, which she always does right after a bath, it maybe me wonder, does any dog like a bath? What about yours??

I'd say they don't mind. Both will get into the tub when asked, but I can't say they jump in with gusto. They much prefer the drying off process, which ends with a game of tug with the towel.
I've never actually bathed my dog-she goes to a groomer. I know it can be costly, but I'd never do the job as good on my sheltie.

On the other hand, when we come in from playing or walking and she's wet and full of mud, I'll just point and tell her "bathtub" and she will jump in the tub to get cleaned off. When I take her out dry dry off, she lays on the towel like she's trying to hide. Can never figure out why she does that.
A few of mine love them they will jump in the tub of water bathing me in the process lol.

The others will hide anywhere and everywhere they can if they even hear the tub water running.

Bella sure is a beauty!
Where does she swim? I just wonder if you could turn her pool into an occasional bath, course I know that's not feasible at certain times of the year. Also make sure she gets a really yummy treat afterward so she knows she has something good to look forward to.
Neither of my dogs mind baths a lot, they don't get real enthused about them, but they're both very good about it. And they both seem to LOVE how they feel after a good bath!
He doesn't like it. In fact, he stays far away from the bathroom and has since I got him. He waits for me at the bottom of the stairs instead. :) Once he's in the tub, though, he's OK.
Zoey's fine with it.. She knows that bath time means treats for Zoey! LOL.. She doesn't like the actual -bath- much, but she doesn't fight it at all.. She gets in the tub willingly and stays there.. she stands still the whole time and lifts up her feet when I ask. She -LOVES- getting blow dried though..
Snowball don't seem to mind it,she actually likes it. I use the shower, with a extended shower head. I gave her two showers so far,she lays down and soaks it all up.Of course the fun begins when she gets out!
Holly will do anything to get out of a bath.
Shadow doesn't mind as long as the bath is inside. She'll jump in the tub without me asking.
J.C. likes to play in water and at first in the bathtub he gets excited... then he realizes I'm not going to let him play, so he usually sits in the corner of the tub and pouts until I'm done with Holly.

That's hysterical! Sounds like bath time at my house. Which is why we switched to doing it in a walk-in shower with a handheld sprayer. Add a little peanut butter (ok, a lot of peanut butter) and the troops are properly subdued if still a little unruly.
None of my three dogs like baths.

Aeris shakes, Bubba tries to jump out of the tub, and Rinoa also shakes.
Nope. Not one bit. He hears the tub running in the second bathroom and then we call him over he goes and hides under the bed. We lure him out with cheese and then start the game of trying to herd him into the bathroom or else pick him up before he runs under the bed again. When we go to put him in the tub he splays his legs like in a cartoon trying to make it impossible to put him in. Then once he's in he literally doesn't move. He looks absolutely miserable. When we let him out he runs around the house like a madman and rubs himself against all the furniture and rolls on the carpet and generally goes a little insane. It's pretty funny actually.

Thank you! I think she is beautiful as well, but I am also her mom:)!

We live within walking distance of the bay and she and I walk down there a few times a week so that she can play in the water. And she just loves it, but the second she hears the word "bath" or see me heading in that direction, she is out of there! She is pretty good once I get her in the tub, it is just getting her there that is sooooo much fun!!!
He doesnt mind it at all. stands like a champ, spins for me ect. I just have to point to the bathroom and say "get in" and he runs in and jumps in the tub. I have also taught him to "shake" so now I dont get drenched int he process of it all either lol
Not at all. Lennox absolutely hates it. He likes water and has no problem getting into water (like a lake, a pond, etc) but no bath tub. Making a 140LBs dog get into the tub is not an easy thing.

LIKE a bath??? Heavens NO! They do stand quietly in the tub and tolerate it very well though. They know when there is no choice in the matter. Best to just let me get it over with so they can rush back out and start getting dirty again. ;)
