Hi... I've just changed my dog's food to a new brand...it's been about 3 weeks now and I've noticed a decline in his shedding --- He is a Siberian Husky and even thought I was brushing him twice a week - he was shedding alot -- after I changed his food (not for the shedding reason -- only because I researched and found that the brand I was giving him was not very good) -- I've noticed he isn't shedding as much.

Does anyone know if it could be the food change?

Thanks:)

Yes, it definitely can. My dog was on Iams for a while. When I switched over to Merrick, her coat became much softer, shinier, and I think she sheds less too.

You can also supplement with Omega-3 fatty acids in the form of fish oil. It may help shedding only marginally, but it help promotes a healthy skin and coat. :)

The food I switched to is Blue Buffalo Dry Food -- it has the Omega 3's listed -- I give him 1 Cup in the Morning & at night -- and at night I also give him either - Chicken, Beef or Liver

Hi...he weighs 54 lbs and his coat is very soft and shiny since Blue Buffalo -- also he really likes the food -- dry and sometimes I put a little warm water in with it to make a broth and he licks the bowl clean! --- I just bought a can of the wet food - but I haven't tried it yet -- (if he likes it -- it's good for a change once in awhile)....the ingredients sound delicious & healthy.
