I was thinking about my dogs diet. I've been cooking for them, and I plan to continue that. I have 2 mini-dachshunds, and a heeler mix. I was wondering if the food I've been making is good for all of them? Cerberus, the heeler, is way more intense in everything he does than either of the doxies. The doxies walk a lot with me (a lazy walk is 1 mile, a serious walk can be 5-6 miles, and we walk just about every day). Then Cerb and I will play with his new flirt pole, he has a big plastic egg he herds around the back yard like a maniac, etc. I was just wondering if there's anything I can add to just his since he's the more active of my bunch. I also tend to steer away from grains altogether, as my doxie girl doesn't do well on them.

It depends. What exactly are you feeding them now?
I'm cooking a different meat each time, with veggies that are also alternated between batches. Every 3rd or 4th batch I make will have oatmeal or millet or another grain in it. I'm also giving a couple of raw meals a week, mostly to keep their teeth clean. I've noticed a huge difference in coat and skin condition in them. My stinky girl is starting to lose the stench!
