I have a foster that has allergies. The usual; itchy paws, itchy face, chronic ear infections. After trying a strict chicken and rice diet, we suspect she may be allergic to chicken. So now she's on a fish based diet for the last three weeks, and we have 5 more weeks to go before we can try tapering off the Apoquel.
Last night, my husband (without thinking) handed her a piece of chicken deli meat. Not a whole slice, just maybe a quarter. It was maddening on so many levels, but let's just focus on the one burning question I have...
Was that tiny piece of chicken meat enough exposure to totally blow the diet/trigger an immune response and have to start over?
