Hi All!

I'm adopting this little guy next weekend. He is a double merle (lethal white) australian shepherd. Deaf.

Does anyone have experience training with a vibrating collar? I think I've watched every YouTube video imaginable.

SUPER EXCITED! Hoping he and my 1 year old (with hip dysplasia) will form a special bond. :)

I have no experience with the vibrating collar, but I have helped train many hearing dogs, using only hand signals. You can search the dogForum for a few posts about deaf dogs and vibrating collars, but the collar serves only to get his attention. You can still teach many of behaviors using the luring method (http://www.dogstardaily.com/free-downloads). And, if you want to do clicker training, you can teach using a handheld keychain light.

I guess the first thing you want to do is train him to look at you whenever the collar vibrates, so you can cue him via handsignal.
