I have a 16 year old border terrier who has had the lesions in the pictures on her legs for several months. The worst one is on her back leg but she has versions of the same thing on all four legs. They don't seem to hurt her at all and she is not an excessive licker or scratcher. They seem to have scabs over them that sometimes open up and drain a whitish fluid and sometimes bleed. The vet told me she wasn't sure what it was so I thought I would post here to see if anyone had any ideas. She is in good health otherwise, the only medication she takes in cytopoint during allergy season.

I suggest to get a 2nd opinion from a different vet.

Another thing to consider, the dog's age. If the lumps can be diagnosed and a treatment prescribed, then what would the prognosis be?

If the dog is not in distress, then it might be well enough to leave the problem alone.

True, I just wanted to make sure it's not something treatable that is being missed, I will get a second opinion from a different vet. She is doing very well for her age (i.e. still going on daily walks, able to jump on and off the couch, play tug of war, etc) so if it is something that is treatable, I don't think she's at the point from a quality of life standpoint where I could justify not treating it.
