So with the start of Dandelion season, I've decided to teach Jake to pick dandelions as a practical trick. We don't use pesticides or anything, so no worries about that, and I won't be letting him just eat them.

I'll be using a clicker to teach it, and I was just wondering if anyone here had some ideas? I was thinking of taking the flower of one and teaching him to pick it up, then going from there. The end result will (hopefully) be him plucking a Dandelion and putting it in a bucket.

Break it down into tiny steps. I would leave the dandelion where it is growing and teach it there. Start by clicking and rewarding for the dog touching the dandelion with his nose and go from there.

Yep.. click him for ANY recognition of the dandelion. Looking at, pawing, sniffing, mouthing.

Thanks for the advice guys. This is where he's at currently:

He's doing great with the part where he has to pluck them. I'm not sure, however, how I'll get him to put the flowers into a bucket. He picks them, and then spit them out!
