Hi,
I recently got a West Highland puppy, she is now 11 weeks old and i thought the house training was going really well, she was asking to go outside etc and will do her business in the garden. But now in the evenings at about 6pm shortly after my girlfriend comes home from work she seems to go into pee overdrive and does it anywhere in the house every 15 mins. During the day she is great.

I wonder if anyone can help us, maybe a behaviour thing?

Asked the vet about it a couple of days ago after her 2nd vaccination and he had not clue.

Thanks.

Is the dog excited?

When your girlfriend comes home does she pat the dog when he is excited and talk to it in that girly excited voice that we girls use to often with babies and puppies? ;)

I've read that you should ignore the dog not talk to it in an excited voice etc when you come home until it is quiet and calm.

If you think it is excited then always be calm around him and give praise/teats calmly when he is calm to reinforce the non excited behaviour.
But ignore him when he is excited.

Then the peeing will stop as it is just a symptom not the cause.

She does it cause she's a puppy. My 4 month old poops like crazy in the evening. The other night she pooped 4 times in a span of 10 mins. 4 times!!!! IDK, maybe she's holding it in all day and finally just can't anymore? No idea...very weird.

Just have lots of cleaning supplies on hand in the evening. :)
