I have a 13 week old Border Collie puppy who recently outgrew her first crate. learning from my first mistake i got a large crate with a divider and set it up so its not too big for her yet she pees in there but i never had any problems in the original crate which she outgrew. what should i do?

I would clean everything in the crate, including the crate itself, with an enzyme cleaner to get the smell out. Then I'd feed her in the crate by spreading the kibble all over. Dogs dont like to pee where they eat.

If that doesn't work, perhaps you're not taking her out often enough.

Good idea. Often, dogs pee to put their scent in a new or unfamiliar spot. If the new crate smells strange to her, she may want to mark it. Also, dogs can become anxious when we change their environment, even something as seemingly simple as a new crate, or re-arranging our furniture, and some dogs pee when they're anxious.
The food in the crate is a great idea. You might also try putting something that smells familiar to her in the crate.
