What’s the best way to clean a dog when you aren’t able to give it a bath? My sister's dog is scared of everything. She cowers in the corner shaking and won’t move. She is quite dirty and smelly but I don’t want to traumatize her by trying to give a bath right away. Is there a way I can clean her without scaring her?

Of course you can get doggy friendly wipes that freshen and a good brush is never a bad thing expect when they are so scared ,,, sometimes its best just to place covers over things you dont want smelling of dog and wait until the trust has been established before adding any more trauma.

Starting slowly with a damp face cloth and working your way around the dog.

a damp wash cloth in 50/50 white vinegar and water mixture. Use like a baby wipe.
Avoid the eyes and nose.

White vinegar helps neutralize smells and is gentle enough to just let air dry on the dog's fur and safe if the dog licks it.

If the dog will take treats, have one person doling out treats as another wipes off the dog.

Or do just one small part of the dog briefly while feeding treats with other hand and just take several days to clean off
