What is Dial-Ups?. Years ago I had a computer that made a lot of noise when I was first logging on to Compuserve but I have not heard that screeching noise in years . Seems that my computer is a lot faster now and does not make a screechy sound when getting on the net.

Perhaps that's your problem, your stuck in the dinosaur age

well mine doesn't make screeching noise because now days that sound is optional. (i'm not joking BTW when I set up my internet connection it gave me the option to ether hear the dial up noises or not lol)
