Aloha! We have a 1 1/2 year old Chihuahua/Jack Russel mix male that we adore that has been acting very strange lately and I am hoping someone can help! He has been growling at his hind legs and behind (A LOT!) and biting at them as if he's after "something". He will also growl at us and has even snapped at us after a bath if we touch his hind legs or the very far end of his back towards the top of his tail. He's not the friendliest dog to strangers or other dogs, never has been, however he's never shown any aggression towards us. We are really concerned about this because he growls a really funky sound and will all of the sudden stop in the middle of playing and do it! If anyone can help with what this may be or has any suggestions we would be very thankful!

Much Aloha and Mahalo!

We haven't taken him in yet, but he has a check-up appointment at the end of April, which I am thinking may be too long to wait. We just don't know what to do! My hubby and I are both Registered Nurses and we diagnose the family most of the time, so we've been sort of troubleshooting Odie! At first we thought maybe he was having muscle spasms in his hind legs, but we just don't know. I guess maybe we should schedule an earlier visit to the vet??? Mahalo!
