Today is a frustrating day. I have a lot of stuff on my mind and things I need to get done around the house, mainly I have an exam for school that I need to take.

I posted on another thread that my new GSD puppy focuses mainly on my other dog and doesn't really show any interest in playing with me or my husband. Well, she has slowly been warming up to me and following me around.

I decided that before I start my exam and other chores that I would take some time to train them both a little and play with them. They seemed to be doing well so I decided to play with them together. Of course, they start playing with each other and ignore me, but when I get up to leave the room they follow me and whine and I can't focus to do anything!

WHAT DO THEY WANT?! So frustrated with them right now!

Ah, dogs. Kabota has started staring at me, but what does he want? Treats? Well, always. Play? Sometimes. Pets? Sometimes. I'd say I wish they spoke english, but I don't want to hear "foodfoodfoodfoodfood" 24/7 either.

Most dogs thrive on human attention but also want doggy attention so what is happening here is nothing unusual. When you play with them do you do anything that will get them running fast, like ball chasing? If you get them to chase and retrieve you can tire them out pretty fast and then they will lie down and leave you in peace. Other wise a black kong filled with frozen treats or peanut butter will keep them occupied for ages.

I agree with that. I think dogs want to play with someone that has as much energy as they do...

My dog is always hungry, so he doesn't bother staring for that... I think that he stares b/c he wants to go on another off leash walk... even if we just came back... Of course, since I feed him after his walk, maybe he figures that if we walk again, then I'll feed him again :)
