Can you take a one-eyed dog on a hike?

Hello,

So I am currently looking at dogs to adopt and I came upon this one dog who I am absolutely in love with. Sadly, this dog needed to have one of his eyes removed but, the information for the dog said he was still acting like any other dog with no problems adjusting.

This is all great but I am a very active person, where I go on hikes quiet frequently and I sometimes go on trails that don't have the best terrain. Would this be a problem for this dog? I understand there would be a depth perception issue and I'm worried about the risk of injury to the dog (I mean more than the normal risk in any hiking adventures).

I am wondering if, despite missing an eye, if a dog could still go on hikes?

My Doberman cross lived for over fourteen years with only one eye. For the most part, she adapted well, but did run into things on her blind side at times. Like the time she was trying to chase a squirrel up a tree, but was on a leash. She turned back to me, and ran smack into a pole that, had she not been moving so fast, she would have seen.

Thank you so much! This definitely made me feel more comfortable in adopting the guy :) I was so worried about injuring him that it made me hesitant but this made me excited for our new adventures
Any dog can get injured, but only having one eye doesn't seem to be a big a handicap for a dog (who tends to "live in the moment" as it might for a human (who ponders the "what ifs").

This was my one-eyed wonder. Yes, she's standing on the roof of my car. You can clearly see that her right eye had been removed and that her lids were sewn shut after the surgery.
