My Dog yesterday started to get a very bad case of diarrhea he was up every hour or so to go. This morning we gave him a bit of rice in his food. bout 2 hours later he had to go again. After than it was a good four hours. In this trip I noticed it was getting a bit harder, but also noticed what appeared to be a spot of blood, after that it was about an 1hr I took him out again and this time no blood but it was back to being real soft again (liquid like) then its been every 2 hours or so. The day it started he didn't get into anything at all, and the only time he vomited was once tonight and it was all food, no bile or anything. Just food. Now I'm going to the vet in the AM with him but just was wondering if this sounds like anything? He is 4 and he has never been sick before so it is worrying me, also I don't want my other dog who is 3 to catch it if it can be transmitted. Now I did read if a dog has diarrhea no need to bring them to the vet unless its been a week, but I don't know what to do.

I would just wait to see what the vet says.

And no, you definitely don't want to leave diarrhoea for a week. That's far too long.
