When i rescued him the shelter told me pitbull/terroir mix but everyone I talk to says maybe Rhodesian Ridgeback/Black Curr mix. Any thought?

Depending on where you live, and/or where your pup came from, Black Mouth Cur x American Pit Bull Terrier is a likely possibility. They, as well as Catahoula Leopard Dog x APBT, are commonly used for hunting feral hogs in the south.
