Breed of my Puppy

This dog is cute! He's so young it's hard to tell what he is. The round head looks like chihuahua, but he's a little heavier boned than a purebred and I think he'll get much bigger. Honestly, I don't see Border Collie, or GSD other than the coloring. Some parts of the muzzle, eyes, and ears make me want to say Beagle or some other kind of hound. I think he'll have to get older before we can get a better hint of his breed.

yea he is big boned for his age, the fringe of fur leading from his ears to his neck then around the back part of his neck. and the center of his back has a ligher mark of fur

the area we got him from was mostly mexican, meaning there could be some chihuahua in there, but at the same time the area is surronded by guard dogs, pit bulls, and lord knows what.

what other hounds would you say so i can compare his pictures and pictures of other dogs

I agree - shape looks like Chi, coloration at this age could pass for GSD ???

Would say he has Chi in him too, i don't see any BC in him at all, or GSD either, although it's hard to tell at his age, it would also depends on how tall he gets and his weight too.

His face (mainly eyes and nose) really reminds me of a dachshund puppy, so maybe he's got a bit of that in him? Or another hound as others have said. I'm not super familiar with what other hound puppies look like.

How big is he now?

I thought the same thing. GSD + Chi? Hmmm....it could happen. The head & eye shape look Chi...coloring looks GSD. Where was the ladder? lol

we do not know his weight yet, not to heavy yet my cat weighs 17 pounds, he is maybe half of that or a few pounds less or more

To my eyes, there's definitely chihuahua in that dog. I don't see border collie or GSD or spitz.
I tend to agree that the mix is some kind of hound. I know of a beagle/chi that very similar to your pup.

I thought maybe dachshund as well, though he doesn't have such a long snout or body. Is the most recent photo still of him? If so, I can see where people were getting GSD. Not the shape though. This photo looks more terrier too. Haha, the more photos you post, the more breeds we will come up with!

the photo you mentioned should be the most recent one, he is on the couch.

he loves runing to an annoying degree. Not only that he is quick and agile so we cant catch him until he gets tired.

Try running away from HIM while calling his name in a high happy voice, and be sure to REWARD heavily when he comes to you. Make coming TO you more rewarding than running away!

we guess he will be about 20-30 pounds when he is fully grown. What age was it were the puppys current weight is half of the adults weight
