Hm. It does sound like he's having some sort of queasiness or stomach issue, given everything that's been ruled out by the vet.

What time is his last meal in the evening? I'm wondering if he's occasionally suffering from "so hungry he's nauseous" in the mornings. Typically I'd expect to also see some yellow bile vomits in that case, but it might be worth moving his dinner later, or giving him a pre-bed snack and see if that improves matters.

I totally understand wanting to do more in-depth diagnostics, given his medical history. Good luck, and I hope it's just a minor issue or a quirk!
