When I saw the headline my knee jerk reaction was that his owner's must be total idiots, but after reading the article it seems that there was some medical necessity to the procedures. The poor guy looked totally miserable in that last picture though :(

That's not cosmetic surgery. If it's medically necessary, by definition, it's not cosmetic.
