Hello all,

Just got back my dogs blood work and everything seems to be ok EXCEPT the 2 below:

Neutrophils came in at 57 (range is from 60-77%)

Lymphocytes came in at 34 (range is from 12-30%)

Anybody else encounter this?

Vet stated that everything was ok. Fecal test and heart worm test all came back in the clear (use triflexis). She is on a grain free food as anything else keeps her stool soft which leads us to do her anal glands. Her poop lately has been softer than normal if that means anything.

Nali is a 3 yr old spayed pit bull mix. She seems fine and plays at the dog park regularly and with her dog friends next door. There are 2 bumps (one behind shoulder blade that’s been there for at least a year and maybe a slight growth and one that developed on her left front leg maybe a few months ago). Other than that she seems fine other than the occasional allergies

Any input would be great and thanks!

Vet said all was OK. Did the Vet look at the "lumps"? Any comments from the Vet about the "lumps"?

Have you researched the Neutrophils and Lymphocytes?

Chances are very good that your Vet has informed you accurately. Play with the dog. Get on with life.

Did the vet mention anything about the lumps? Some dogs to get benign fatty tumors, but it's usually more common in older dogs. Is the new lump growing fast, or seem to bother her? If so, then having a needle aspirate done might be a good idea, just to see what it is.

The numbers for Neutrophils and Lymphocytes are outside the normal range for that lab, but not drastically so (I've had sick animals with numbers quite literally off the chart). As long as the vet is unconcerned, and she is acting normal, I would probably repeat the blood work in a few months, to see if anything has changed. If she starts acting off, the lumps you've mentioned get larger, or she develops new one, then I'd go back in sooner.
