Good day, my otherwise healthy, 8 year old male black lab has developed a red jowl in the past week. On the bottom right hand, only about an inch or two of it. It is at times very dry, but days like today, it's normal "wetness". It doesn't droop any more that the left side. It's just that section of jowl "bumps" that have turned a dark red.
It's not swollen, does not affect his appetite or his energy and does not seem to bother him. I'm just being a worry wort as this wasn't something that was on him over a week ago.
Anybody else experience this or can offer advice on what it might be? Or am I just being too worrisome?

If in doubt call the vet! I would call them and ask if you should bring him in or not.
