There is a risk of adverse reaction from ANY flea and tick medication, but the risks are MUCH greater with the two you mentioned.

I would not risk it.
PetsMart will sell them in individual tubes. You might want to check online places. Drs Forster & Smith (can I list a name on here?) have really good prices on stuff. BioSpot is awful and I will never use it again. I firmly believe it burned a bit when I put it on the dogs...they hated it.

Frontline is cheaper and should get rid of the fleas pretty quickly.
I have seen a few dogs coats distroyed at the point of aplication with bio spot and I would not recomend it to anyone
Thank you all for the advise. I called my vet and can get frontline for a one month supply for $18. I rather go with the better stuff any way just couldnt afford the store price which only sell the 3 month supplys for $60.

My store doesn't and none of the ones in my area have individual doses AFAIK.

Interesting...and I meant the animal clinic sells them, not the store.
Yeah, I know my vet will sell them in individual doses and he only charges 1/4 of the pack (or a 1/3 for frontline or revolution) so he doesn't even upcharge you a bit for single doses. For those who can't find pet stores that will do so, call around the local vets. You may find a vet willing to do so.

You mean the Banfield? The vet hospital? Not PetSmart. :) They just rent space from PetSmart, they are not the same thing. I think Banfield will sell individual doses of Frontline and such, but they don't have BioSpot (again, AFAIK.)
I've used nothing but Bio-Spot, and I know many in the showing/breeding/training world who have used it. And we've never had any bad experiences or reactions.

Jesi, that was my point, it's Banfield (and I realize they rent space) but I still consider it as PetsMart. :p Anyway, I was suggesting the OP go there for one dose of Frontline, etc rather than buy ANY BioSpot. It might get her through this initial flea infestation until she can get the money together to buy a full pack. Just a suggestion.
