Today Lloyd, Nash and I biked (well they ran, I rode the bike) from our house to my parents; which is around 6 or 7 miles I think, and then back later. Lloyd and I have been doing this every Sunday for a few weeks now, today Nash joined us. It was great, they both did awesome and we all got some nice exercise. We took lots of breaks because it was very warm out today. We stopped frequently and hung out in the shade on cool grass for about 10 minutes each break, with water offered.

Daily we usually do 3-5 miles. Do you think its ok to do the longer distance only once a week? Or, if I want to do that distance should we be doing it more frequently during the week?

You have to know your dogs...I mean, physically it shouldn't be a problem, especially if you make sure they are able to run off the pavement and onto better surfaces, unless they have an underlying condition or are structured in such a way that they need to limit their strenuous activity.

If you think they need and can handle more than go for it, keeping in mind the conditions they are running in (which you are already doing). It's really impossible for anyone to say without knowing your dogs and going with you on your bike ride lol.

They are on grass alongside the road for the majority of it. I was just wondering if doing more only once a week was a bad idea or not. They seem to be fine with it, but I don't want to do anything that will harm them. They get a few hours between the 2 legs, as I eat dinner with my family and hang out.
