Benefits of owning a pet

An apple a day may or may not actually keep the doctor away, but what about an animal a day? Now, that's a different story.

Tell me how owning a pet has changed your life?

Well, my dogs tend to get me moving and just out the house more. Sure, my son also does but apples don't fall too far from trees and he's a lot like his parents these days. We're pretty introverted people.

When our fourteen year old dog passed away earlier this year I truly found myself missing taking him on walks, taking him out in the yard for some "crazy play" (yes, he still got the zoomies at 14...that's a boxer for you), taking him to pet friendly places so he could enjoy all the love, dog parks, dog beach...etc, you get the idea.

So we just adopted a new dog and while she isn't as amped up as him, I'm definitely loving our strolls and just taking care of her in general. It keeps my body and my mind busy and something I realized makes me feel much healthier when I do it. I'm fairly anxious by nature and one good thing for me (not necessarily everyone) is just staying busy and active. And a dog is a wonderful fix for that.

They're also amazing conversation starters if you're a shy person. I'm not really shy but I don't really go out of my way to start up a conversation with a new person but a dog will do the work for you.

I am so sorry to heard about your dog. Your pet can provide you emotional support as well. Few months back, I started living by my own and most of the times I used to feel lonely. It was affecting my work life, my relationship and most importantly my health. I visited Steady Care Medical Clinic which is situated in Santa Ana, and they asked to have an ESA which proved to be the best decision of my life. I have a dog as an ESA. He loves to play with me, we go for long walks, I have started taking care of myself. I am a lot happy than I was.

Living alone is tough but it can become quite easy if you have your pet around wagging its tail.
