Beef Liver "Brownies"

I just made a batch of these for mine over the weekend and they went absolutely nutty over them! If your dog likes beef treats you should give these a try, they are really easy to make and it makes a ton of them! I used to buy beef liver treats around here for $12.00 for 6 ounces, these look exactly the same as the ones I used to buy and cost WAY less to make (and make a LOT more than 6 ounces!) :)

Beef Liver "Brownies"

1 pound fresh beef liver
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. Wheat germ
1 1/2 c. Flour

Preheat Oven to 350 degrees.

Put all of the ingredients into a food processor or blender.

Puree until very smooth (about 4 minutes)

Grease a 13x9 pan with olive oil then spread the mixture into the baking dish until you have a well even layer across the entire pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

Partially cool, then cut into small (1 inch) pieces while still warm.

Cool completely and then remove from pan.

Store in fridge or freezer.

Serve in small quantities as these are quite rich.

i made these last friday and iorek really likes them. but, i don't!! heehee! it was probably one of the grossest things i have ever done. my food processor didn't like the potato flour that i used (i didn't want wheat, possible sensitivity...) so i had to add 2 more eggs, olive oil, and finally water to get it to more of a thick batter. i looked up the conversion online and omitted the wheat germ. when i took the cup part off the base of the food processor it was suctioned on with liver goo. blah! there was a lot of clean up and so much stink!! i have TONS of "brownies" in my freezer now.

thanks for the recipe! i know iorek appreciates it :) heehee!
haha! yeah, liver goo is wonderful! :S

i made the mistake of putting the flour in the food processor first. probably i should have done the eggs then added the liver and then the flour until it was the right consistency. that would have been the smartest thing to do...no one said i was smart! heehee! i didn't quite think it through, but if i do make them again this is the way i will do it.
thank for the tip! i will use it next time :)
