Okay i already got some good information but would like some more.

Bear and my 11 week old kitten storm have it in for each other i swear!! Storm stalks, harasses and torments Bear. Bear responds by a bark or a growl. Storm runs bear chases, Storm chases Bear runs! Now storms brother snowflake, hisses but then walks by bear like he is just a fixture in the room.

I am body blocking bear when he goes to chase storm, im removing storm to the other area(i dont have a room to shut the cats in) I have gates up and bear doesnt jump them so the cats can go and bear is stuck in the living room, play area of the house unless i go in the kitchen then he goes in there with me.

like right now storm is perched on a speaker staring at bear while he is laying on the floor sleeping. i think the little twerp is thinking about pouncing on him again....cat thinks she is huge when she is a tiny lil ball of fur!!

Same way here....our much younger cat taunts, teases and ambushes the senior dogs. The chases are very short-lived but, they all love the game.

as i just got bear i want to make sure he doesnt hurt the kittens. He was around other cats before i got him. I just had him on a flexi and had it shortened and made him sit while storm approached me, he had his ears perked up and his head cocked looking at her. But he was a good boy and when she hissed he didnt react he sat like he was told to.

Sounds like you are on the right track. You understand that the Kittens safety is your repsonsibility. Just be sure to never leave Bear loose and unsupervised with the kittens or cats.

Kittens can be fearless little things. The stuff Oliver pulls (even now at age 2) on Atka is pretty amusing.

If the dog and cat play nicely, it is OK, but if the thing esclates and the dog starts to get too rambunctious, it is time to stop the game.

I have posted this b4 but here is Oliver doing his Bruce Willis act with Atka....
(Cats rule, Dogs Drool....)

you may also note in the photos that Oliver has his claws retracted.....

He used to pounce on Atka's tail when she was laying down. She would look at me as if to say, "Pullleeeezzze Control your CHILD.." She looked so sad... LOL So sometimes I had to intervene on the Dog's behalf.

Yet, Atka taught Oliver the Cat to walk on a leash and to retrieve (she is a terrible retiever). The calm interaction between animal species is fascinating.

My kitten, Pixie, troubles Blizzard all day long. It's funny how some kittens take dogs for big harmless toys.
