[Concerned]

Before, she barks at family members every time I talk to them. After a while she stopped doing it. Outdoors however, when someone talks to me she barks at them. When I loosen the leash she stops barking and sniffs their feet. She doesn't bark afterwards. Her bark is territorial and not the playful bark. It can get embarrassing at times. Not everyone feels fine when a dog approaches them to sniff their feet. What I usually do if it's a long talk is to ask her to heel and sit provided that the conversation will take a while. Unfortunately, there are times that it's only a fleeting conversation. What should I do?

This sounds more like demand barking to go and meet the person. Continue having her heel and sit when you are talking to people if that causes her to stop barking. Doesn't matter how short the conversation is. She doesn't get to meet every single person, and thats fine.
