My dog Beast is a 10 year old beagle who barks way too often and VERY loudly. He'll bark at runners, bicyclists, scooters, skateboarders, other dogs(most of the time), squirrels, and anybody he thinks is dangerous. It's absolute hell trying to get him to stop. I've been trying to train him as much as I can and he's making some improvement but then he backslides over and over.
I've only had him since July and I'm pretty sure his original family did no behavior training with him and given some signs I've seen from living with him I think they simply hit him as punishment.
What can I do to curb his excessive barking?
