My dog eats Blue Buffalo food and rarely gets scraps (unless something drops on the floor). He doesn't get rawhides either. Sometimes I even put a little yogurt on his food for the pro-biotic effect. But his gas is SMELLY! I'm sure this is a common problem - what do you all do for a gassy dog?

How long has he been on it?

Sometimes the digestive system doesn't settle down for a couple of months when on a new food.

You can try switching to a blander food or one with very different ingredients.

He's been on it about a month. We also tried Wolf King brand but I didn't really like it. I heard that different protein sources in the food (a chicken based instead of beef for example) makes a difference. I'll have to scope out the food section next time I go to the pet store. It's not a major problem, it just makes snuggling up to him difficult :)

My dog used to have horrible gas as well until we started feeding him grain free. He also had loose stools, which he still occasionally does but the gas is gone. We had him on California Natural for a little while and the gas on that was unbearable, esp for a 120 lb dog! We now have him on Taste of the Wild and it is going really well. Good luck!
