So I had a long day today and decided Papa Murphy's Garlic Chicken Pizza sounded good for supper. I baked the pizza cut it, put a slice on a plate set it down and darn it, the phone rang. A few moments later, my Garlic Chicken pizza slice is gone. Well there are only 3 choices of answers to this mystery so I started smelling breath to find the culprit. Problem is... All 3 had very distinct Garlic chicken pizza breath. It is apparent that there was a mutiny in my house. Nobody is talking either.

This is one of many mysteries that happens in my house. I am sure you all have mysteries that happen in your houses as well. Post them here and maybe we can guess at the answers as to "what might have happened?"

Heh heh. We had a mysterious disappearance of veggie pizza a few years ago. The only evidence to be found was a Standard Poodle happily licking her chops, and a little pile of slightly-chewed-and-spit-out black olives on the floor a few feet away. Her eyes said "Who me? I would never do such a thing" but her breath said otherwise!!

There's a man who comes to my house and does strange things we can't explain, either. So when something goes missing or something gets chewed, the explanation is always....a man came....

Not sure how a man did this -- got upstairs, went into our bedroom, shredded this pillow case and snuck back out without any of us -- esp. our fearless guard dog Poca -- hearing or seeing anything. Strange....

Yes, the mysteries are amazing.
Miss Mutt the only other culprit is my cat Madeline and she would be the least likely to take the slice. Smelling her breath though... she did partake.

MrsJohnnyG: LoL Yeah, there were a few tomato pieces upon closer inspection that were pressed into the carpet. eek!

winniec777: I don't like that man much. I wonder how he gets from state to state so fast? What did he do with all the stuffing from the pillow? or was it just the case?

Well, that's the really odd part. This time, he only shredded the pillow. The other two times, it was feathers everywhere! I was cleaning them out of corners for weeks. Maybe the case is all he had time to chew...this time...

And I can't believe the kitty would participate, too. The odds of a full out culinary mutiny from all your fur friends are just too great. Must have been the man.

The only thing I had missing one time a few weeks ago was a 2.6oz Hershey chocolate bar. I was on the phone and had 2 of them on the table. Called the E-Vet and they said don't worry about it because she did not have enough. I only found the wrapper.

Just last night Lola was sleeping in the bedroom when I was out in the other room at the computer. I slowly opened up another Hershey bar and 5 seconds later she was at my side looking on the floor for some that might just drop. Amazing how she can wake up out of a dead sleep by smelling chocolate and other stuff I might be eating when she is sleeping. I guess her nose never sleeps :(

When I was a kid I had a Rottie that had a thing for candy. I was a kid and didn't know any better so on occasion I would share with her. So even though I didn't know it was bad for her, I knew it was bad for me to share with her because she would eat most of whatever treat I had. One day I came home from the store and I had a snickers bar. I had it in my pocket. I walked into the house. My mother was vacuuming. My dog was asleep on the chair so I quietly walked upstairs to my bedroom, pushed the door shut and laid down on my bed. I quietly and slowly opened the candy bar. All of a sudden it sounded like thunder and the door comes crashing open and my Rottie jumps up onto the bed and onto me and snatches the candy bar. I was like    How did that dog know???? Talk about having candy radar. LOL I think our dogs have something in common.

LOL.... this thread is funny.....

I used to watch a schnauzer mix who I thought had very good manners. She never begged and knew the appointed area she could use to potty. Anyway, it seems like my youngest son would happen to have the problem of his pizza or hot dog attached to her (shnauzer) mouth. The look on her face was priceless. It seemed to say "how did that pizza end up there?", "what hot dog? Oh the one in my mouth? Didn't notice it."

Ilya lately wants people food and has been grumbling his complaints. Then he pouts. He stole part of a hamburger once and the look of guilt seemed too overwhelming for him (was it an act?) he seemed to have layed down with his paw on his cheeks with a frown.

Uallis has a fondness for potato chips. When he was younger and the uncontrolled counter surfer, I'd frequently come to discover missing bags of chips. One time, when we had guests over, we had some chips and chip dip sitting on the counter for everyone to enjoy. Unfortunately for Uallis, I discovered the missing bag of chips, missing dip...and a missing Uallis at the same time. I soon after found all three hiding in the computer room. To Uallis's credit, he tried to look innocent, but it was hard for him to do considering the torn bag of chips laying on the floor, the empty chip dip container laying near by and the dip smeared all over his face...but in hindsight maybe it was the "mysterious man" who framed him......but somehow I doubt it.

TDBR ( The days before Roxy lol) When we only had Lucy I had cooked a Whole Drunkin Chicken and I had it on the counter because my very well behaved Lucy would never get food she shouldnt have ever not my baby. Well we were all outside and came back in the house and my ENTIRE whole chicken was gone no where to be found in a matter of 2 minutes well then I noticed so was Lucy Hum Coincidsoence I thought not ! So after seraching the house we found Lucy in my sons room with what was left of our dinner. OMG I couldnt believe it well I still dont I think she did it I think the cats set her up.
Now Roxy is not sneaky at all not one bit she will steal food from your hand, plate, table, counters, anywhere if you blink when she is around.

LOL Yeah, "The Man" is quite a trouble maker. We once had a chicken disappear also. It was the beautiful Inga that pulled that one off. The worse part is she sat looking my sister in the face and belched and the whole place smelled of chicken from her belch. So much for looking innocent after that. lol

Those Papa Murphy pizza's are great ! Have you tried the stuffed ones ?
At least it was only one slice .

Take a sec and listen to my tale . 2 weeks ago I came home with a somewhat expensive rib roast ( you all know where this is leading right ? ) LOL.

My 6 month old Aussie has never taken food off the kitchen counter ,he KNOWS better . But ... I guess the smell of it was to much , after I took it out of the oven I cut it in half and let it cool on the counter , right at the edge of the counter ( bad idea ) . While its cooling ,we are watching TV for a bit and sure enough , around the corner comes Red with half of the rib roast in his mouth and making a mad dash to his crate :D .

I kind a yelled and he dropped it and it rolled on the carpet , not salvageable :(

Lesson learned !!! Nothing extra yummy in plain view on the kitchen counter anymore .

Our big mystery is where do all of our socks keep going? Is the "man" running low on socks or something? And not to mention that plate with a half slab of steak on it I sat on the nightstand? If the "man" was so hungry, "he" could have asked and I would have fed "him"! :p

Yes, the man occasionally dresses in red and sports a white beard. My mother-in-law and I walked into the kitchen to hear a crunching sound. There was her dog lying down while working a package of tennis balls. A second later, my dog, runs by with a toy in her mouth too. In the brief time period where everyone was out of the room, my dog and partner-in-crime broke into the bedroom, into the closet and pulled out the dog toys intended to be opened on Christmas morning. At least they pulled out their own gifts!

I just remembered one that wasn't exactly a mystery since there were eye witnesses, but it was funny nonetheless. :D

My roommate right after college had the most wonderful Golden retriever. One day, around Thanksgiving, my roomie decided to bake a pumpkin pie. She had never made one before so it took her a while and she was quite proud of it. She let it cool on the counter and was careful to put it farrrrrr back from the edge because Jessie the Golden was whining to have some and we didn't want a pawprint appearing in the pie.

Later the pie was put into the refrigerator and we were excited about having it after Thanksgiving dinner the next day.

Sometime that evening, my roomie opened the fridge to get something... within a split-second, Jessie saw her opportunity, went for the pie, and smacked it right out of the fridge with her paw... we watched in horror as it smashed into pieces all over the floor. She looked up smiling at my roommate, as if to say "Ha, now I get to eat it!" How can ya be mad at a sweet smiling Golden face? :D

We have a mystery book eater. One of the dogs ate my son's book. Noone telling on each other until... China decided to puke right in front of me and there was the pages of the book. The reason I knew it was from this particular book was because the words were still on it.
