My last dog was a standard poodle, and so I thought I had the grooming thing down pat. But I just picked up our new Lowchen puppy, and realize how different this one is going to be. I think this pup is probably a lot like a Havanese when it comes to grooming, so maybe I’ll have more luck finding tips on Havanese grooming? Anyway, it’s the face/head area I’m a bit worried about. I LOVE the flippy hair on top his head - do I clip it with scissors? What about the long hair around the nose? Tips appreciated!

I owned and groomed one they have fantastic hair! Most mats will easily brush out with the clump falling out, only grows out to the final length of just before the ground. Traditional look is shaved poodle feet, think poodle htc, shaved butt to first rib down to hock. Leave 'pom' just trim where it touches floor. Same with front leg, elbow to matching back leg length for front pom. Tail is halfway shaved and lightly trim plume.
