Anyone have this problem?

I am by no means using this thread to avoid the vet. Our dogs go monthly, have every vaccine, heartguard, nexguard, and everything in between. If this isn’t allowed delete it but we are at our last hope and just want to know if anyone else has had this problem and what it could possibly be because our vet doesn’t know.

Our poor Dudley is 1 1/2 years old. He ran away for a bit (we live in the mountains in California) and came home. The next morning woke up and was lethargic and wouldn’t eat. This was 2 months ago. We have been to the vet multiple times since then had bloodwork, xrays, and everything else they could do done but no answers. He said that his white blood count was high but not cancer and he’s too young for that. They’ve given him prednisone, amoxicillin, and doxycycline. Some days he wakes up lethargic and won’t eat until around noon and then is fine, the next day we can’t get him to eat and he will barely move all day. The internal specialist isn’t available for another month and we just have no idea what it could be and neither does our vet. We are heartbroken and feeling defeated.

We just want to know if anyone knows anything else we can do or if anyone else has had this issue.

We should also mention he got fixed the Friday before he ran away.

Well, I'm not a Vet either. I would not offer any sort of diagnosis or stab in the dark.

I would suggest for you to seek the advice of a 2nd Vet. Remember, Vets are doctors who practice medicine on animals. In other words, a single Dr. does not know everything or has experienced everything. A 2nd Vet, may have experienced something similar before or has different knowledge on diagnosis techniques.
