Anyone have a dog with LUMBOSACRAL syndrome?

I just recently found out that my dog has this condition and was wondering if anyone has a dog with the same condition, that could provide some insight/recommendations? I was also wondering if anyone has had a case where the dog lived a long happy life and did not require surgery?

have you thought about physical thereapy?? We just started it for our dog.
One of my dogs has a lumbar-saccral compression. He takes gabapentin. So far, he is doing fine. I let him decide his level of activity. I try not to let him jump off our high bed but he jumps on and off the sofa.
We will definitely be looking into it! Thanks for your recommendation. Have you seen much improvement from your physical therapy sessions? (I realize you just started) Does your dog have the same condition? I have read that strict rest, even cage rest, is recommended.. I'm wondering if that is absolutley necessary or if just "taking it easy" is okay?

Thank you for your response. I'm glad to hear he is doing fine!! Is he in an early stage? My doctor prescribed Prezolon for my dog. Are you happy with the Gabapentin? My dog is fairly active too, still jumps on and off the sofa as well, with no sign of pain. That is why I question whether STRICT rest is really needed.
Skyler fractured a sesamoid bone in both back legs and has a severe muscle strain in both back legs. Home exercises, so far, are slow 10min walks three times a day. He will go to PT twice a week for ultrasound therapy and water treadmill. We are hopeful. Totally different injury but the rehab place we go tom treats all sorts of injuries, we met a dog yesterday w a back injury that the owner swore by the fact he feels they saved the dogs life thru therapy.
