Hello all ... new to the forum, but I was wondering if anybody on this board has had any experience with the chemo drug Hydroxyurea with their dogs.

I have a soon to be 12 year old Shepherd/Beagle mix with a slow-growing non-cancerous meningioma tumor at the base of her brain. (Though non-cancerous, this drug is successful at attacking all tumors, as well as passing through the blood-brain barrier)

After researching various potential treatment options, we've decided to give hydroxyurea a try. It seems to be a relatively new treatment method in dogs, but results seem positive without having to undergo extensive radiation treatments, which have a good success rate, but are also a lot to put a dog thru.

I was just wondering if anyone else out there has tried this treatment and had anything to share.

Thanks for your time!
