My Weimaraner is 5 years old and Ive had her since she was a puppy. I have to admit, in a security sense, I appreciate the fact that she barks at the sound of someone walking into the front door. However, it needs to stop.
Every time she hears keys, or a car door shut, or someone try to open the front door, she barks like crazy. She even barks if someone tries to enter our room.
Other than this, she’s very well behaved and very sweet and wouldn’t hurt a soul but her barking is getting out of hand.
Any positive reinforcement tricks to help her stop? I’ve already tried to teach her to bark on command but it doesn’t quite work.
