Big day today. We picked up a new friend for Esther and Molly at the local shelter.

They have him listed as "shepherd mix" but I skeptical.

I'm hoping a little male influence will settle the girls down a bit.

Also, we don't have a name for him yet. They've been calling him Fluffy, but I don't think it really suits him.

Congratulations on the new addition Ron.

Shepherd/Husky maybe??? He sure is handsome.
How's everyone getting along so far?

No, Fluffy is definitely not a good choice for him... :)

He seems a tad edgey. Lots of pacing and loping around the yard.

Molly loves everybody, but Esther has been watching him suspiciously.

I'm sure it'll be fine, though.

Um, You are kidding right?
You got me. They weren't really calling him Fluffy.

We might do the DNA test thing if we can get close to him with a swab.

Hey, he kind of looks like this one I was looking at!

But yours is whiter – maybe part Samoyed, then?

Is he good with cats? Because I have two cats, and I hope mine will be good with them. :D

So I am not alone in my suspicions then? lol

Ya know...

I'm wondering if you're pulling our collective leg????
It wouldn't be the first time Ron tried to do that, would it? LOL

It's lovely! I was wondering... I was admiring the background blur too... I remember reading your (I think?) thread about that awhile ago and it led me to play with backround-blurring one of my own doggie pictures the other day, in fact. I really like how you kept the wispy edges of the coat.

Of course the picture I posted above, that's just stolen off google images. ;)

what's going on w/ his nose, there, Ron?....you might wanna have that looked at by the vet (if he can get close enuff to him to touch him)....but i think Fee Fee would fit him better:D, don't you?

That's just a little melted snow on his nose. We had (and you probably did, too) an inch or two of fresh snow last night and then it melted today.

If you look really closely, I think you can see a little bit of vet hanging out of his mouth there.

We already have a Fee Fee (though I think she's FiFi) in the family. My mother has a Shitzu named FiFi. FiFi won't be meeting the rest of my dogs any time soon. The first (and last time) she met Esther, she snapped at Esther for getting too close to my mother. Esther chased FiFi under the bed and was trying to extract her when I rescued that poor dog. Even after I took Esther outside, it took a couple hours to coax FiFi out from under the bed, and she was still shaking.

No background manipulation with this one, Spitzy - just a 300mm lens shot wide open. I did merge three bracketed exposures to get a higher dynamic range and that actually gave me a bit more background detail than I wanted.
