Guess one swipe of the emery board is a session for right now then. Then go for a swipe at each nail.
Try a partner that feeds as you pretend to do the scary clipping. It's hard to do it all on your own.
I do a lot of what Patricia suggests as well. I don't release a struggling dog but wait for him to calm down and repeat the sticky bit. Once I have a successful moment and dog is quiet I release.
I couldn't handle clippers. Dog wiggles, clippers shift and there's blood. Love my dremel but I did work with a diamond file for a while and would go back to that rather than clippers any day.
