So sad They're already drawing comparisons between this case and an other one involving a Husky in Quebec. I hope this doesn't end up with people calling for an other breed ban :S

"No history of violence or aggression". . .of course not. To some dogs, a newborn baby is prey. It's not aggression; it's lunch. Or maybe the dog was trying to get to the diaper, or whatever. At any rate, leaving a newborn baby alone with a dog is just plain irresponsible.

I dont understand WHY people keep doing this....leaving a helpless baby alone in a room with a dog. any dog, even a beloved family dog could hurt an infant, intentionally or accidentally.
My gosh, when my babies were little, I didnt even leave them alone in a room with their siblings! It only takes one accident to alter a life forever.

I don't get it either. EVERY dog can and will bite, there's no such thing as a dog that will never bite.

I don't really consider it a "bite" even. You can't expect a dog to know that the little pink squeaky thing is a human.
