Today I took Holly with me to my grandma's house. Grandma needed help with things around the house and Holly cheers her up quite a bit, so I decided to bring her.
We were in the backyard pulling weeds and Holly was laying down in the grass. She did come back to the weeds with us once or twice, but mostly just stayed away. I noticed when she did come around the weeds she was scratching quite a bit.
Now, she's chewing on part of her leg and she appears to be in some discomfort... so it looks like a trip to see the vet is in order tomorrow. But I was wondering if it's possible that the weeds or grass could be causing her to be itchy? She doesn't have fleas and I can't see any bites or anything (and it's a good 3 or 4 inches that is irritating her). I also have no idea what kind of weeds or grass it was.

It is entirely possible she is allergic to grass, weeds, pollens and/or trees.

The way to be certain what is causing the problem would be to have a dermatologist do allergy testing.
