Hi, I will shortly be getting a new lab puppy and wondered if people can offer advice on taking a puppy hiking and camping once it’s completed it’s vaccinations at 16 weeks.

• Has anyone used one of those backpacks designed to carry dogs of this age?
• Would you typically allow the puppy to walk for short periods (30min or less) on flatter sections of a trail (on leash of course).
• Any issues with lake swimming at this age

I live in British Columbia if that helps and would be backcountry camping.
