We adopted this puppy today from a rescue. They say that they know the mother is a Rottie, and they THINK the father was a hound..... I see the hound. I really don't see the Rottie. Though her legs could be from a Rottie for sure....

If she came in as part of a litter with a Rottie dam, I'd believe the Rottie part, but the markings are off. I've seen that type of markings with GSD x Dobes, so maybe there is some GSD in the mix? Whatever she is, she's pretty. Congratulations.

See, I was thinking Dobie / Hound..... She is very slender like a dobie.... but they say that they know the mother was a Rottie.... but yeah, she is cute.... she is 12 weeks old, and she will be tall.... she came into our house and put her paws on the kitchen island. We already have her mostly trained to sit, so I think she may be very smart.

Genetics are funny things. For instance, I know the owner of these two dogs, and they are half Alaskan Husky. The owner of their mother used to post here a lot, and this is the thread about the litter: Not ONE pup in that litter looked like the mother, lol.

I could believe part Rottie. The mother likely was not purebred and would have other genetics mixed in as well.

She's pretty cute whatever she is
